Hemp Oil vs. CBD Oil: Which is a Better Choice for You?

Since the approval of the first cannabidiol (CBD)-based drug through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there has been an increase in the number of people eager about the benefits of hemp seed and CBD oils.

With the legalization of hemp in the United States, hemp oil and CBD (cannabidiol) are hot topics. Be aware that there’s a lot of confusion across the names of CBD Oil and Hemp Oil. People sometimes refer to “Hemp oil” as “CBD oil”. However, some people may also refer to hemp seed oil as hemp oil.

While both are derived from the same plant, they come from different parts of the plant. CBD oil comes from the entire plant. Hemp oil is extracted from the seeds.

Both offer many health benefits. By helping you get a better understanding of hemp seed oil and CBD oil, hopefully it may allow you to choose the safest and most appropriate product.

Keep in mind that hemp is legal on the federal level. The states were left to decide for themselves how to proceed. However, if you’re ordering hemp or CBD products, you’re not going to have any problems, as those products are legal. If you want to grow hemp in your garden, check your local laws.

If you’re wondering about the differences between hemp and marijuana, they’re two different varieties of the same plant, Cannabis Sativa. Hemp was cultivated for its strong fibers that are used in making rope. Marijuana was cultivated for recreational uses. People do not use hemp seed oil for recreational purposes. This is because the levels of THC and CBD, which cause the psychoactive effects, are either limited or absent.

Hemp oil is similar to other cooking-type oils and is used in cooking and skincare products. CBD oil is used in the alternative/holistic medicine arena. Hemp and CBD oil may provide powerful benefits. CBD oil uses the stalks, leaves, and vegetation of the hemp plant when manufactured. This is where a high concentration of CBD is stored, which is a compound that may have a lot of attainable health benefits.

Hemp seed oil comes from the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant. The seeds don’t include CBD; however, they nonetheless have a rich profile of vitamins, fatty acids, and useful bioactive compounds that may even have health advantages. Neither will get you “high.” While both products come from the same species of plant as marijuana, hemp products come from a variety of the plant that has minimal levels of THC, the chemical in marijuana that makes you feel “high”

CBD oil may also have anti-inflammatory benefits. CBD oil may reduce inflammation throughout the body. Some scientists believe that all diseases are ultimately caused by inflammation. The anti-inflammatory action of CBD oil is being studied in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s.

CBD oil can be used to reduce pain. No one is certain why CBD oil may reduce pain, but it is speculated that it may be due to the anti-inflammatory benefits

CBD oil may help to reduce anxiety. CBD oil has been found to be helpful in treating anxiety. It is believed that CBD oil does this by affecting the sensitivity of serotonin receptors in the brain.

CBD oil has been shown to be effective in treating acne. Ingesting CBD oil has been shown to be helpful in treating acne. Acne is believed to be at least partially caused by inflammation which stimulates the overproduction of oil in the sebaceous glands, so reducing that inflammation may be what helps. CBD oil can also be useful in the treatment of eczema and psoriasis

Hemp oil is high in antioxidants, omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids. It also contains gamma-linolenic acid, and other nutritional antioxidants. It is also high in B vitamins and vitamin D. Hemp oil is very healthy and has many of the same properties as fish oil.

Hemp oil is a great moisturizer for the skin. Hemp oil can be applied directly to the skin. It is also being used in many commonly available skincare products. Hemp seed oils may help people maintain good cardiovascular health by improving total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides.

When added to products such as snack bars, breads, cookies, and yogurt, it provides an excellent source of nutrients. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and essential amino acids.

You can also consider trying hemp protein. It’s not the best tasting option, but it’s a healthy, complete protein and high in fiber.

Benefits of Hemp seed oil may include:

  • relieving constipation
  • providing cardiovascular health benefits
  • modifying the immune system
  • improving skin conditions
  • improving gastrointestinal conditions
  • anticancer effects
  • antioxidant effects
  • anti-aging effects

Hemp oil doesn’t have any side effects not found in other common food oils. Some people say they had digestive issues, but these effects don’t occur in everyone.

There are three different types of CBD oil on the market:

  • Full-spectrum CBD oil, which contains all compounds of the cannabis plant, including THC (but at a very low level)
  • Broad-spectrum CBD oil, which contains several compounds but not THC
  • CBD Isolate, which contains only CBD

Aside from the antiepileptic effects of CBD, researchers still need to confirm the other potential therapeutic benefits of CBD.

CBD oil is generally well-tolerated. The most common side effects include diarrhea, dry mouth, reduced appetite, and fatigue. CBD oil should be treated as any other over the counter item. Be responsible and cease using it if the side effects are too unpleasant. Stay in touch with your doctor if you have any concerns.

There is still a stigma attached to hemp products, but that is beginning to change with the legalization of hemp in the United States.

Consider giving CBD oil and hemp oil a try. There are many potential benefits with minimal risk.
